This Davenport was given to the current vendor's grandmother Bessie Sinclair (nee Temple), by Queen Alexandra, whilst employed in her service. Bessie married Harry Sinclair, Master of Arms on the Royal Yacht 'Osborne.' and later franchisee for the Gosport Floating Bridge.
