An Edwardian walnut and boxwood-inlaid Davenport writing desk, with Royal Provenance, of typical form with enclosed storage compartments, gilt-tooled writing scribe, and bank of four drawers to the side, 54cm wide. This Davenport was given to the current vendor's grandmother Bessie Sinclair (nee Temple), by Queen Alexandra, whilst employed in her service. Bessie married Harry Sinclair, Master of Arms on the Royal Yacht 'Osborne.' and later franchisee for the Gosport Floating Bridge.
