A 19th century French empire oak wood ladies writing desk. The Bonheur de Jour having a top fully appointed section with four drawers over a leather embedded desk top. Below a central drawer kneehole flanked by two bank of two single drawers. Raised on turned rigged supports. Measures approx. 84cm x 74cm x 46cm.

Originally campaign furniture was intended for the leadership of the army.
