A late Victorian mahogany desk, with centre writing slope with inkwells and pen slide above, flanked on either side by a cupboard with foliate and scroll carved panels, the slope front hinging to a secretaire interior and flanked on either side by a further gilt tooled writing surface and with three drawers with locks by “Hobbs & Co., London”, and raised on short turned legs with low shelf and raised on brass castors. A fine 19thC satinwood ladies writing table, the lid inlaid with parquetry border and decorated with a hand-painted scene of cherubs and children with a basket of flowers. Further rosewood inlaid decoration surrounding the single drawer, the sides and back of the slope. The fitted interior is velvet lined and fitted with glass bottles. The desk raised on very fine ebony-edged tapering legs and brass castors united by a double tapering cross stretcher. A calling card is present with the item "Prince George Imeretinsky" inside
A George III and later gilt metal and bronze desk timepiece, the chain fusee movement with verge escapement and scroll pierced and engraved balance cock, the circular enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals and inscribed `Joseph Blundy`, the later bronze stand in the form of a horse with gilt saddle cloth, on an oak plinth, height approx 34.5cm (alterations).
