Adam Buck (1759-1833) Irish Portrait of a gentleman sitting at a desk in an interiorSigned and dated 1809, watercolour, 35.5cm by 28cmSignificant staining across sheet with notable bleaching or fading to colour. Various foxing spots some of which look to have undergone some restoration or form of disguising particularly within the sky area above and behind the sitter's head. Diagonal creases approx centre left-hand side edge running full width of sheet but less notable toward right-hand side edge. Some further likely infilling with chalky white paint to disguise the creasing around the lower right-hand corner of the window within the sky. Further creasing to upper left-hand corner. Odd surface scuff. No evidence of cockling. Nor examined out of the frame.

A George III oak chest on stand, the top section with two short over three long drawers, the base section with three short drawers raised on cabriole legs, 150cm high, 53cm deep - NOTE: This piece comes with two later modifications meaning that the top section can be placed on a platform with bracket feet to form a chest of drawers and the base section has a leather covered insert to sit in the top making it into a dressing table or desk. Both of these pieces are removable and easily installed if required.
