An Edwardian mahogany desk or dressing table, with rectangular top, fitted with three frieze drawers with brass drop handles with oval backplates and kneehole recess and raised on tapered legs of square section terminating in squat spade feet. CONDITION REPORT: Length 107 cm, height 74 cm, depth 43 cm.
Lot 1009
An Edwardian mahogany pedestal desk, the rectangular top with moulded edge above three frieze drawers with three further drawers to each pedestal. Width 153 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The leather writing surface is in generally good order with only minor surface scuffs and scratches. The gilding is a little rubbed. The wooden surround and moulded edge are in good condition. All drawer fronts are in good order and the handles original. The sides and rear of the desk are all panelled and in good order with only very minor marks and discolouration. There are four small slightly discoloured to the top front wooden section of the desk top just above the right hand top drawer. These are suggestive of an old repair but we cannot see the reason for this. In our opinion these marks are not an issue.
