The dressing table raised on quadrille style legs, with a set of two drawers to the left and a cupboard door to the right, having a curved desk / dresser top set above. The lamp having an urn shaped ebonised body with central ormolu band decorated with in relief lion mask heads & floral motifs. Raised on squared plinth base. Two 20th century turned wood and brass desk / table lamps. The larger of the two lamps featuring a turned central column, with gadrooned detail to the top and bottom, and a brass section to top with leaf style detailing. The other featuring a turned carved and pierced column raised on a rounded base. Largest measures approx. 65cm tall.
19th century mahogany leather top writing desk, having two pull-out drawers with compartments and writing areas, above fluted tapering legs, cups and casters. Possibly by Gillows. (B.P. 21% + VAT) Leather has been replaces to the top. One inkwell has been repaired. Stain, marks and loose piece inside drawer. Knobs damaged to the side. Scratches and wear commensurate with use and water mark. Teeth missing and crack to the surface under top (see image). Solid and useable.

AN UNUSUAL GEORGE III MAHOGANY 'SHIP'S DESK' CIRCA 1780 Of naval or maritime interest 75cm high, 112cm wide, 41cm deep Condition Report: Overall there are some scratches, marks, chips, cracks, abrasions and some evidence of old worm consistent with age and use.Some sun fading to the top. Handles, locks and escutcheons are period replacements. There are plugged holes to the drawer fronts from previous handles. Some fragmentary losses to the timber surrounding some of escutcheons. One key is present and operates the lock to the door. No key present for the drawers, but all are open. Some minor old veneer and moulding repairs. Feet are very well matched replacements.
