A late Victorian oak pedestal desk, with carved edge, three frieze drawers and three further drawers to each pedestal. Width 124 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The leatherette top is later and lifting in places. The surrounding timber is in generally good order with only minor scuffs and marks. The carved areas of the desk are all extremely dusty and dirty. We think that perhaps the drawer fronts have been stripped of the original darker varnished finish. The desk is structurally fairly sound with the usual knocks and scuffs around the plinth. The side panels are in generally good condition as is the rear. Overall the general impression of the desk is that it is a little tired.
An early 20th century oak roll top desk, with fitted interior and with four drawers to each pedestal with wooden handles. Width 127 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The desk roll currently runs but is quit stiff. The webbing behind appears to be all present. There are no gaps between the sections when closed. The top is in good condition as is the moulded edge. The sides of the top are in good order. The back of the desk is panelled as are the rear of the pedestals. All drawers appear to be in good order. We have the centre drawer and the back panel. There is no evidence of any woodworm that we can see. The desk is in generally good order with only minor surface marks and blemishes as one would expect from an item of this age. The interior is principally complete however the left and right hand pigeonholes are empty and perhaps should have a slide out filing drawer.
An Edwardian walnut pedestal desk, with tooled leather writing surface and moulded edge above three frieze drawers and with three further drawers to each pedestal all with brass drop handles with pierced backplates and raised on a plinth base. Width 122 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Width 122 cm, depth 60 cm, height 76.5 cm. Both pedestals are in good condition with no issues other than minor surface marks as one would expect. There are some scuffs around the pedestals but again this is usual. The handles appear to be original and all match. The leather writing surface has some old marks and stains but no perforations and no real problems. The timber surrounding the leather is in generally good order with only minor marks and scratches. The frieze drawers are all in good condition and operate as they should. The sides of the desk are in generally good order. The rear of the top of the desk is not as well finished as the front. There are two old triangular veneer repairs which are visible on close inspection.

An Edwardian mahogany Carlton House style desk, typical form, fitted with a series of drawers and cupboards to the superstructure, three frieze drawers and raised on tapered legs of square section. Width 140 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: 3 of the 4 chairs are structurally very sound. One is slightly loose at the rear joints but not significantly. The chairs do not appear to have any breaks. They are all nibbled and scuffed around the legs as one would expect. The upholstery is a little soft and springy in places. The springs and webbing are all a bit worn.
An early 20th century oak roll top desk, with fitted interior, green tooled leather writing surface, kneehole drawer and four further drawers to each pedestal. Width 122 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The tambour runs reasonably well. It is a little sticky in places but not significantly. The webbing at the back appears to be in reasonable order and there are no gaps between the slats. The desk is fully panelled all round. It is in generally good condition with only minor surface scuffs and marks as one would expect from an item of this age. The interior appears to be complete unless the two largest apertures should have had drawers. The green leather writing surface is in generally good condition but will be a later replacement. The drawers all appear to be in good condition and are all present. We can see no evidence of any woodworm. We do not have a key for this desk and as a consequence have taped up the lock mechanism.
