A good silver plated desk ship's wheel timepiece and barometer, the drum cased back-to-back movements with white enamel dial including a thermometer (H/PB/N trademark) on rectangular plinth inset with a compass, 22cm h, c1900 Feint radial hairline crack to the clock dial which is hardly noticeable. The silver plating worn off in places showing brass but in otherwise fine original condition

Asprey, London A LATE VICTORIAN/EDWARDIAN BLACK MOROCCO-COVERED LAP DESK of rectangular form, the cover, centred by a brass carrying handle, enclosing ivory ruler, eraser, letter opener and three pens, two inkwells with "MOSLEY'S REVOLVING" covers, the brass lockplate stamped "ASPREY/166 BOND ST", the writng slope also stamped, the interior in unused condition, 40.5cm x 28cm x 18cm high, (16in x 11in x 7in)
A late 19th Century French walnut and Kingwood crossbanded writing desk, the rectangular shaped top decorated with a pair of inlaid floral panels with pierced brass three-quarter gallery, the central hinged panel with inset leather writing surface, opening to reveal a drawer with further leather-lined hinged writing surface, raised on slender scrolling legs decorated with applied gilt metal motifs and terminating in sabots, 38in. x 24in. x 28in. high.
Victorian silver desk stand, by Martin Hall & Co., Sheffield 1864, shaped oval form with paper scroll handles supporting two cut glass inkwells with silver mounts and hinged covers centred with a taper stick and the whole bordered with chased floral decoration, raised on four feet, width 10.25ins.

Use of the Greek or Russian Church, ?mid-7th Century,. 330 leaves, handsomely printed in red and black in Slavonic script, 15 well?spaced lines of text per page, with large ornate initials, usually in red, and decorative head?pieces, full?page woodcut of a saint writing at a desk on the verso of the fourth leaf (recto blank), with an integral blank leaf about halfway through the volume, some slight soiling, generally in good, crisp condition, bound in contemp. blindstamped calf over wooden boards, central panel of the upper cover with a blindstamped design of King David playing the harp, with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden on the lower cover, 4 heart?shaped brass bosses at the corners, with a central leaf?shaped brass boss, rebacked c. 1770 in English red morocco, gilt, lettered on 2 black leather labels, and with Mus. Bapt/Bristol/Gifford in gilt on the bottom compartment, spine now rubbed, and chipped at the head, sm. 4to. Bookplate of A. Gifford on the front pastedown, over which the Bristol Baptist College bookplate has been pasted. Earlier ornate signature of Thomas Martin. Gifford himself has supplied an initialled inscription, identifying the item as a "Psalterum Sclavonicu[m]", on a free endpaper. The register appears to be in 8's, although the first gathering comprises only 6 leaves, indicating that 2 leaves, one being the title?page, is missing. (1)
