A William IV Scottish engine turned silver rectangular snuff box, by James Nasmyth, of bombe form, with cast foliate border and interior later presentation inscription, Edinburgh, 1832, 87mm, 127 grams. The hexagonal shaped snuff box depicts a scene of a family weaving cloth in the garden, flowers and foliage to four sides and the base, to interior depicts a landscape with boats, trees and pavilions.Measures approx. 3.5cm x 8cm x 6cmTiny chips to the enamel on the cover and bottom seam, slight discolouration to the base.

The hinged box featuring carved scene of the riverside village, with houses, figurines sitting by the river, a boatman and a passenger on a boat, amidst willow tree and flowers, floral scrolling on the border of the lid, flower carving on the side of the lid, the sides of the base carved two dragons, surrounded by clouds, birds and butterflies, a scene of a lady offering tea for her family in the garden.Measures approx. 2.3cm tall x 8cm long x 5.5cm deep.A tiny chip to the inside of the cover.
