A fine 18th Century coquilla nut snuff box of stylised dog form, the hinged lid finely pierced and carved with a winged cherub holding a bow, a dog at his feet, the front with stylised dog face above an acanthus carved chin and lobed shell base the terminal with carved head flanked by doves, 8.5cm wide
An Early 19th Century Chinese Silver Export-Ware Snuff Box: Stamped with pseudo-English marks, second quarter of 19th century, rectangular form profuse decorated with vignettes of Chinese figures carrying out their duties; the other side a temple/pagoda. W 6.7cm CONDITION REPORT: The overall condition + wear to the box is commensurate with the age. There are minor dents, (these are small) to the edges, and there is the slightest of bruises to left-hand, bottom corner. Interior of box good, with discolouration to seams/edges. Interior retains its gilding, original hinge open and shuts firmly. Rubbing to high points of detail, mainly to the faces and some spotting to the pagoda side. Weight 102.5g
