A FRENCH IVORY NECESSAIRE INSCRIBED UNDER THE LID COUP 49 PALAIS ROYAL, 10.5CM W, 19TH C, AN IVORY CANE HANDLE OF TAU FORM, A DIE STAMPED SILVER PLAQUE FORM THE LID OF A SNUFF BOX DECORATED WITH MAZEPPA, AN IVORY BILLIARD BALL SHAPED PEN STAND, A GILT BRASS MONOCLE, SIMILAR LORGNETTE, TINTED PHOTOGRAPHIC MINIATURE OF BADEN POWELL, FRAMED AND OTHER SMALL BYGONES
A German porcelain double-ended snuff box, 2nd half 18th century, perhaps Meissen, the exterior moulded with rococo scrolls around purpurmalerei flowers, the interior covers similarly painted with the portrait of a young lady wearing a flower necklace, and an old man holding an infant who tugs at his beard, gold mounted, some good restoration, 9.5cm.
A Russian silver snuff box, maker's mark apparently KW, St. Petersburg, mid-19th century, oblong, engraved all over with geometric strapwork centred by a reserve, on engine-turned ground, cover applied with vacant oval cartouche, gilt interior, 8 cm. long, wt. 104 gm.Good condition, the applied oval cartouche is probably covering the original engraved initials.
Yorkshire military interest/Regimental Mess silver:- An Indian Colonial silver-gilt table snuff box by Lattey Brothers & Co., Calcutta, circa 1850, with later military presentation inscriptions, oblong with incurved sides, engraved all over with flowers and foliate scrolls, cover applied with a raised border of flowers and "C" scrolls, applied shell and foliate scroll thumbpiece to front, cover inscribed on top within an oval reserve "Presented to the Mess of the 2nd. West York Yeomanry Cavalry by Major Waterhouse M.P., July, 1873", further inscribed inside cover " Presented to Mrs. Waterhouse by the Officers of the Regiment on its disbandment, and given by her to her nephew Arthur Hancock Edwards, late Major , 2nd. West York (Prince of Wales Own) Yeomanry Cavalry, July, 1894". 12 cm. long x 8 cm. wide x 2.5 cm. high, wt. 367 gm.Samuel Waterhouse (1815-1881) was a Conservative MP for Pontefract from 1863 to 1880, a director of the Great Northern Railway, a Deputy Lieutenant for Yorkshire and a JP for the West Riding of Yorkshire.Overall good condition, some very minor wear to engraving on one scroll near edge of base and some very minor wear to gilding in same place.

A Continental Silver Mounted Enamel Snuff Box, the mounts with rubbed maker's mark, Paris, date letter P probably 1778/79, rectangular with hinged cover, each side painted with a cartouche featuring figures loading boats in a river landscape within Fromery Workshop style raised gilt borders and puce diaperwork, 6cm wide A crack to the enamel on interior on back and base, further hairline cracks to side panel. Marks to rim are worn, wear and loss to much of the gilt borders especially to the base. A few areas where the gilt borders have discoloured.
Polar.- Inglefield (Edward Augustus) A Summer Search for Sir John Franklin; with a Peep into the Polar Basin, first edition, half-title, 4 lithograph plates (including 2 chromolithographs and 1 folding panorama), folding map with short tears, some foxing, original cloth, spine a little darkened, [Abbey, Travel 642; Sabin 34758], 8vo, 1853. ⁂ "In 1852 Inglefield commanded Lady Franklin's private steamer, Isabel, in a summer expedition to the Arctic, and looked into Smith Sound for the first time since it had been named by William Baffin. On his return he published A Summer Search for Sir John Franklin (1853), was elected FRS (2 June 1853), was awarded the gold medal of the Royal Geographical Society, and the silver medal of the Paris Geographical Society, and was presented with a diamond snuff-box by Napoleon III" (ODNB).
A 19th century Russian silver/niello Snuff Box of rounded rectangular form, hinged lid decorated in a classical style in relief with a musician playing to a couple, the man seated, the base is similarly decorated with a triumphal charioteer drawn by two horses, internally gilded, marked 84 (zolotnik) and 1820 to inside edge of lid, 8.8cm by 6.7cm, 5.94 oz

Maker IB (af), a continental white metal snuff box of oval form, the engine turned lid with oval blank cartouche and with gilt interior, stamped to inside of lid 800, a Samuel Morden & Co white metal handled sliding pencil with inscription dated August 25th 94 and a sterling pill pot and cover with embossed scroll decoration, stamped to rim sterling.
