An olive wood rectangular card case, 11.25cm, an ivory Vizagapatam type card case, 10.5cm, a tortoiseshell bone detailed small trinket box, 9.75 x 7 x 5cm, and a tortoiseshell ivory and horn snuff box (4). CONDITION REPORT: Snuff box lid will not open, minor surface wear. Two small cracks to the front section of the Vizagapatam type case with tiny losses throughout. The olive wood example is in good order. Small trinket box has old repairs where bone has been replaced with another material. Crude repairs and additions. Area of tortoiseshell missing to the left hand side and is in a rather tired condition.
A group of sewing related collectors' items including a weighted rosewood pin cushion of rectangular form, length 11.5cm, a sewing clam (lacking upper section), also a thread holder, and unassociated items including snuff box, spoons, crudely carved horn ornaments, etc. CONDITION REPORT: Surface wear and scratches throughout, some separation to the rosewood, piece, flecks of veneers missing in parts, overall just general surface wear.
An unusual 19th century naively carved snuff box modelled as a horse's head, with bone inlaid eyes, length 9cm, and a further treen example, the lid set with a heart and inscribed 'WR', and with a stylised fish to the underside of the boot, length 8.5cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: Small section missing to the base of the horse where the slide cuts across, general surface wear elsewhere. Tip of left ear also missing and a tiny section to the right ear. The second snuff box has a totally different colour to the top section and the base, general surface wear throughout.
A 19th century walnut and brass stud decorated snuff box in the form of a shoe, length 16.5cm, two similar 20th century examples, a smaller example with hinged lid, length 9.5cm, a pewter example with hinged lid with crude inscription to underside of cover 'Jos Holland', and an oak model of a shoe (6). CONDITION REPORT: The large snuff box is a good colour and patina, with general surface wear as are the other more modern two. The smaller example is in good condition and has quite a dark finish, general wear throughout.
A Victorian white metal mounted carved shell snuff box with hinged lid and suspension ring, apparently unmarked, length of body 5cm. CONDITION REPORT: Two major dints to the lid. The crossover clip is misshapen but still works. Heavy tarnish underneath the lid and outside the rim, also with crude gluing visible both outside and inside. The shell appears to be intact, only with very minor wear.
