Fine quality eighteenth century French gold oval snuff box with chased vari-coloured gold neoclassical decoration, the oval lid base and sides with panels of gardening, trophies, musical instruments, cherub and animals, within ribbons and festoons, French hallmarks, 75mm x 55mm x 23mm CONDITION REPORT Very good condition. No damage or repairs. Decoration still very crisp, the detail only showing very minor wear considering the age. One panel to the left hand side has a small area of discolouration / staining. Hinge works well and the box opens and closes well. The box might be Swiss rather than French and possibly early 19th century. It is for the buyer to form their own opinion. Total gross weight approximately 80 grams

Fine quality late eighteenth century French gold oval snuff box with two-colour gold chased decoration, with applied yellow gold border of husks and rose gold engine-turned ground, French hallmarks, 63mm x 45mm x 21mm CONDITION REPORT Clear hallmarks to inside of lid and base. There is damage to the base, only visible from the inside which appears to be a crease with very fine tear and pin-prick size holes. The hinge works well and the lid opens and closes well. The decoration is still very crisp with only minor wear to the raised decoration. The box might be Swiss rather than French and it is for the buyer to form their own opinion. Total gross weight approximately 43.8 grams
