A Georgian novelty brass combination locking snuff box, of compressed circular form, with three dials being the sun and two compasses, the catch being a crescent moon 9.5cm diameter.Condition ReportSome wear and patination, no major dents or damage, one pin missing on the hinge where it connects to the body. We have now worked out the combination and the snuff box is now open, last photos shows combination in a open position.

AN EARLY VICTORIAN SILVER AND ENAMEL SNUFF BOX by Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1844, shaped oval, the hinged cover painted with a musical trophy, the sides further decorated with musical trophies and floral sprays, all on a cobalt blue ground, the underside engraved with scrolling foliage, presentation inscription to gilded interior. 7.5cm wide, 5.5 troy ouncesThe cover is restored to approximately seven of lobed edges with hairlines to clear glaze, mainly to the edges, some wear and touching-in to the enamel to the sides, the sides are not glazed and are matte in appearance, design possibly later.
