'No surrender!' or 'come on boys, no surrender!' was the battle cry and is found throughout cultural output associated with Northern Irish loyalists and members of the Orange Order - a Masonic style fraternity - which was founded in 1695 to work to maintain protestant ascendancy in Ireland. From 1921 to 1969 every Prime Minister of Northern Ireland had been an 'Orangeman'.
