A fine and important octagonal Irish George III silver gilt Presentation Snuff Box, of elongated form, the flush hinged cover engraved with the Arms of Sir Evan Nepean, surrounded by a band of ribbon tied garlands, the base engraved with Arms of Trinity College, Dublin, inside a band of flower heads and ovals,the sides engraved with foliate and rosette motifs, by Aeneas Ryan,Dublin c. 1803, marked on lid and body, approx. 4 ozs, c. 8.7cms long, 5.2cms wide. (1)* Sir Evan Nepean, held the office of Chief Secretary of State for Ireland.
