Mounted in a circular wooden frame, with label to the reverse 'Picked up on the field of Waterloo 19th June 1815' 'From Gavin Caldwell Smith 30th Sept 1948'. 12 cm wide.This may seem an unlikely battle field souvenir, but collecting relics from the field was a popular activity, one eye-witness describing the scene on the 19th June 'They plundered all they could get'. *CR Some marking to surface, probably a damaged lid from a snuff box.
