A 19th century lacquered snuff box lid of circular form depicting an interior scene, dia. 8cm, in modern frame with letter of provenance from the V&A Museum dated October 1979, which states "Your box top has been passed on to this department from the Department of Textiles. The roundel is a hand coloured engraving laid onto papier mache and subsequently varnished and lacquered. It probably formed the lid of a box, perhaps a snuff box. The print is taken from a satirical print of 1825."

Late 18th/early 19th Century Continental tortoiseshell snuff box of circular form with white metal banding, the push-on cover decorated in the Vernis Martin taste with an interior scene of figures, a further still-life to underside and painted decoration to lower body, 6cm diameter x 2.5cm high Condition: Allover craquelure (crazing) to lid, sides and base, upper metal band to body is loose but present, an easy fix to attach, otherwise sound - **General condition consistent with age
