A 19th century tortoiseshell snuff box, of curved rectangular form with chequered decoration, applied gold coloured beading and mounts, 7cm wideCR; A number of the applied beads have been lost (see pictures). There is scratching and wear throughout, and many patches of the ridged detail have been worn, losing definition. Chip to the corner of the hinged cover. Possible signs of solder repair to the lip. Large crack, and some chips and losses to the interior lining. See pictures for illustration. Hinged cover opens smoothly and closes securely.
A large Bilston enamel snuff box, c.1765, possibly emblematic of travel, the cover depicting a figure seated at a table before a stone column titled 'Janus', a winged figure holding the staff of Asclepius, a ship visible in the background and a globe to the bottom right corner, the sides with floral panels reserved on a dark blue ground with raised white enamelling, some good restoration, 8.3cm.
A French enamel silver-mounted snuff box, c.1765-75, decorated with a raised gilt design of hearts enclosing single flower or fruit sprays, reserved on a pale yellow ground with pink striations, the silver with Paris marks including a possibly 'TB' maker's mark, some cracking, a repair to the interior, 6.5cm.

A St.Cloud silver-mounted snuff box and cover: in the form of a reclining shepherd, his head resting on his right hand, his dog and crook lying below, the mound base and cover enamelled with floral sprays in the Kakiemon manner, circa 1740, the mounts with indistinct Paris discharge mark for 1744, 7.5cm.
A RARE 'DR. GALL' CRANIOLOGICAL SNUFF BOX, CIRCA 1828constructed in pressed fruitwood with tortoishell lining, the lid depicting front, side and rear views of a human skull subdivided with numbers, the rim with maker's inscription Cranologie Docteur Dr. Gall, the bottom with numerical reference key repeated on inset paper within, together with two contemporary cuttings about Gall -- 3¼in. (8.5cm.) diameter complete, one small repair to rim of lid.

A 19th century Austrian silver snuff box, rounded rectangular, scroll engraved against an engine-turned ground; hinged cover with scrolling bar thumbpiece, and gilded interior. Marks rubbed. Maker's mark LK, 8.5 x 5.3; together with a silver vesta formed from two 18th century pennies in a bound silver mount with hinged side opening and strike to base; an Egyptian card case with niello work scenes from rural life; and four further items.
