A 19th century tortoiseshell cased musical snuff box, 10cm. Condition-Mechanism has a transparent plastic sheet over the mechanism, preventing better sight of the comb/barrel; underside one corner tortoiseshell chipped and incomplete; no key but mechanism has been set going and works but sound limited by transparent sheet which is jammed tightly to inside surfaces of box.

A group of three carved walnut gargoyles. 19th century, with varied expressions, height approximately 8cm, together with a similar pair of lion masks, a medieval knight and companion, a circular black lacquered snuff box, painted a fox mask, and an unframed sampler dated 1908.One of the lion masks has a few losses/breaks on the back where it has been pinned/joined previously.There is a small loss on one of the gargoyles, and they are all slightly grubby and dusty.The lid of the snuff box has a few losses/chips.

An Edwardian 9-carat gold combination vesta and snuff box, by William Hornby, London 1904, plain rounded rectangular form, the hinged cover opens to reveal a compartment with a ring attachment, with a crest above initials inlaid with small diamonds, the reverse inscribed 'May 20th 1903', length 6cm, approx. weight 64.7g.Provenance: A Private Collection of Vesta Cases. The crest is that of Fosbery of Clorance and Curragh Bridge, Co. Limerick, Ireland.
