Weißblech, schwarz lackiert. Rechteckige Form mit abgerundeten Ecken. Auf flachem Scharnierdeckel detailreiche Genreszene im Inneren eines Hauses - ein eng nebeneinander sitzendes, essendes und diskutierendes Paar. Nach dem 1661 entstandenen Selbstbildnis des Künstlers Gabriel Metsu (1629-1667) mit seiner Frau Isabella de Wolff, welches sich in der Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister in Dresden befindet. "Anton Fugger als Retter Augsburgs vor Kaiser Karl V 1547". Wandung umlaufend verziert mit reliefplastischer Blattranke. Innen mit Gravur "1.K.13", vergoldet. Gest. 925, Herstellerzeichen. Porzellan. Trapezförmiger, glattkantiger Korpus mit leicht gewölbtem Scharnierdeckel. Allseitig von eisenroten Linien umrahmte Reserven mit Kauffahrteiszenen, architekturbestandene Hafenlandschaften mit Segelbooten, Kaufleuten und Arbeitern zwischen Ballen und Fässern sowie figürliche polychrome Malerei. Form-Entw. wohl Johann Joachim Kaendler. Innenwandvergoldung. Vergoldete Montierung mit leicht ausgezogenem Daumengriff. H. 2,5 cm. 6 cm x 4 cm. Seltene Tabatiere mit ungewöhnlicher Form eines Trapezes. Eine Tabatiere mit geometrischer Grundform ist in Kaendlers Arbeitsberichten vom Januar 1741 verzeichnet. Dort heißt es folgendermaßen: "Eine Tabattiere in Gestalt eines Triangels, welche von Herrn Secretario Vithen bestellt worden, vor Frey Mayer.". Die Dreiecksform verweist auf die Verbindung des Besitzers zu einer Geheimgesellschaft, ist doch das Dreieck das Hauptsymbol der Freimaurer. Zum Teil zeigen die Dosen Szenen mit abgebildeten Freimaurern in entsprechender Kleidung bzw. charakteristische Symbolik. Zumeist bestechen sie aber vor allem durch unverfängliche Szenen, die keine Hinweise auf die Freimaurerei geben.Vgl. Beaucamp-Markowsky, Kat. (7.9 x 6.0 x 2.9cm.).. * In good condition - lid opens and closes crisply. No dents, dings or other damage. No repairs.
