An oval 'Jacobite' style snuff box in bone with geometric incised decoration, horn base and lid, one half of the lid with a printed image of Prince Charlie and motto, 'Arise Annoint, HHim for this is he' the hinged lid with floral design on a gilt ground, 11cm x 5.5cm, Paper to the interior 'Belonged to Captain John Burnett of Princes Charlie's Army' CONDITION REPORT: Generally fairly good condition, lid and hinges tight and unbroken Base:- Horn two cracks running in through the brass pegs securing the base,one is curved in middleof side and almost 2cm, and on left hand side, this crack is internal to horn Side:- On bottom rim, Left hand side horn is rough and perhaps natural or slightly uneven/flaked away and tiny crack to bottom edge from 1 pin on right hand side Two side, crack to left hand side from mid rim to half way Top:- Wood with horn top, underneath the horn is a gilded paper on one part (lifting part), the other side (fixed) has a cut portrait with ribbon above, studs Insdie small label *1 Ogilvy and then *INSHEWA** label damaged and folded paper inside as described
