An 18th Century oval magnifying glass in a tortoiseshell cover with silver coloured metal mounts, 7.5cm wide, a circular glass similar, 5cm diameter, a tortoiseshell snuff box, 7.5cm wide etc. CONDITION REPORT: Larger Oval: slight crack to one of the silver metal fittings as pictured. Case a little bumped and scuffed. Glass chipped to edges and losses to glass. Smaller Oval: Scratches on surface of horn due to the totating movement of the glasses. Glass good without visible chips or cracks but in need of cleaning. Smaller round: metal frame a little uneven and not completely circular. Small chip to edge of glass.

A Underglaze Blue and Famille Rose Snuff Bottle Qing Dynasty Dimensions: Height 3 7/8 inches, Width 1 1/2 inches (10 cm x 4 cm). Gu Mengyu was a prominent Chinese politician and educator during the era of the Republic of China. He played a significant role as one of the central figures in the reorganization faction led by Chen Gongbo within the left wing of the Kuomintang. He held several important positions, including Minister of Railway and Minister of Transportation in the Nationalist Government. The items being auctioned from Mr. Gu Mengyu's personal collection have been graciously provided by the descendants of Ms. Wei Zengying's sister. Some of these items come with a collection box, adorned with Mr. Gu Mengyu's personal seal, which he used to mark his signature during the time of his collection. Alongside them are various scattered collectibles, including a selection of early photographs depicting Gu Mengyu's life, all carefully preserved within a weathered, large wooden box. Additionally, there are exquisite calligraphy and painting works gifted to Mr. Gu Mengyu by renowned modern artists. In addition, the consignor of these collectibles has provided a treasured family album, brimming with captivating tales about the lives of both Mr. Gu Mengyu and Ms. Wei Zengying.

A George III silver vinaigrette, by Samuel Pemberton, Birmingham 1801, of rectangular form with canted corners and a suspension loop, the hinged lid decorated with a leaf border, the gilt-wash interior with a scrolling filigree work grille, 4cm wide, the total weight of the item 23.9 grams; together with another George III silver snuff box marked 'WE' possibly William Eaton, London 1810, of rectangular form, with engine turned decoration, the interior revealing a pierced grille decorated with the union flag and an assortment of musical instruments, 3.5cm wide, the total weight of item 25.4 grams (2)As seen on the Antiques Road Show.The Pemberton has a little rubbing to the fire gilding around the hallmarks in the base section below the grille, the grille is unmarked.The body is free from twists and dents and closes nice and tight it of course shows some small dents but nothing to detract from the objectThe other one has a very slight grin when closed ( less than 1mm ). It has some slight dents to the angles from being carried in a pocket with other items.
