2 small Compasses, Comprising of a prismatic sighting compass, English, c.1910, signed on the green floating compass card 'J Hicks 8 Hatton Garden London' and engraved on the top for the owner 'E. H. Harvey' the compass with prismatic viewer, diameter 7cm; a small fob style compass with printed white card compass dial, Footnote: The Compass by J Hicks is signed E. H. Harvey most likely to be Private Ernest Herbert Harvey, a farmer from Australia, who lost his life in France on August 16 1916 while serving in the military. Before his enlistment, Private Harvey was actively involved in farming on the Peninsula. He embarked for the front in October and initially served in Egypt before being later transferred to France.

Vintage Hermes padded/quilted jacket, cream-coloured with brown velvet collar, small embroidered detail, brass-coloured logo buttons, popper fastening, two front pockets and a Hermes cotton shirt/jacket, printed with points of the compass, designed by J Melx (Joachim Metz?), three-quarter length sleeves, pleated back, size 42 (2) Condition ReportThe jacket has brown stains to inside (low) back. Various faint stains to front of jacket (both sides). Few stains marks (water?) to lower back of jacket and various spots/marks to sleeves. Cuffs of sleeves slightly grubby. Velvet collar slightly faded around edge. The shirt has no obvious damage or stains.
