Original vintage hanging state fabric flag (Bannerflagge) for East Germany or DDR - Deutsche Demokratische Republik. The flag features a coat of arms with a hammer, compass and wreath of wheat wrapped with a tricolour ribbon set in the middle of the black, red, and gold flag. The flag was used from 1959 to 1990, the design was adapted to combine the Weimar flag and Communism symbols. Good condition, staining, pinholes, small tears, central insignia is stitched on top of rest of the flag. Country of issue: Germany, designer: Unknown, size (cm): 60x91, year of printing: 1970s.
