Label inside 'F Smith & Sons, Chronometer Makers and Compass Adjusters, 23 OXFORD STREET, SOUTHAMPTON Ship Sardonyx, Folio, Sardonyx (steamer), The steamship Sardonyx was purchased by the Canadian Pacific Navigation Company and placed on the route between Portland and British Columbia ports as a feeder for the Canadian Pacific Railway.[in 1887].
