* STEPHANIE DEES RSW, TENEMENTS mixed media, signed 53cm x 72cm Mounted, framed and under glass Note: Stephanie Dees attended Edinburgh College of Art, obtaining MFA Degree in Painting 1996 to 1998, adding to her Edinburgh College of Art, BA(Hons) Degree in Drawing and Painting from 1992 to 1996. Her history of solo exhibitions are as follows: Lemon Street Gallery, Cornwall, 2003; Compass Gallery, Glasgow, 2001; Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh, 2001, 2004, 2006 and 2008. Dees is a regular exhibitor at Society and Commercial Gallery group exhibitions throughout the UK and has been showing with the Scottish Gallery since 1997. Her works feature in Private and Public Collections worldwide.
Short & Mason Barometer, Compass & Thermometer, Ca 1900 Short & Mason, London, England, Circa 1900. Gilt metal pocket compensated barometer, fixed weather scale graduated 23-31, altitude scale graduated 0-8000 feet, movable milled rim and pointer used to set the scale for altitude measurements, ring suspension, (diameter: 5cm / 2in). Gilt metal pocket compass, eight point wind rose, ring suspension (diameter: 2.5cm / 1in). Mercury thermometer with Fahrenheit and Centigrade scales (length: 6cm / 2.36in). Comes in the original Morocco leather case, double doors, green velvet interior, and hinged easel to the back of the case. Case: 9cm X 7.5cm / 3.54in X 2.95in.
* LOUISE RITCHIE, BLUESCAPE oil on canvas, 213cm x 213cm Unframed, as intended Note: Louise Ritchie gained a fine art degree and post graduate diploma in drawing & painting from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, Dundee. She has won several major awards including the Glasgow Art Club Fellowship, RGI (1998), the Scottish Art Club Award (1997), and the Millar Homes Paris Scholarship Citie Des Artes (1990). She has exhibited widely, including a solo show `Land Light Vision` at Glasgow`s Compass Gallery (1996), and at the London and Glasgow Art Fairs. Louise was also nominated for the Millar Homes Young Artist of the Year Award (1990 & 1991), and has work in several major collections including, the Mirror Group, London, Dundee District Council and Fife Regional Arts. She was elected to serve on the Council of the SSA, the Society of Scottish Artists in 1998, and has taught in academic institutions in Glasgow and Dundee. Louise was invited to perform within the installation `Killing Time`, a collaboration between artist Graham Fagen and Suspect Cultures Graham Eatough at Dundee Contemporary Arts (2006).
