A Paul Goerz artillery compass, Second World War, silvered dial marked "BR9493" with protected cover bracket and mount. Diameter 140 mm. CONDITION REPORT: The outer case of the compass is generally very tarnished as is the revolving section that would presumably have fitted onto some form of staff. The revolving plate does operate as it should. The locking mechanism that attaches this to the compass itself appears to operate as it should. The compass itself is locked and the mechanism that should unlock the compass point does not seem to operate. This mechanism would require lubrication. The compass glass is in good order. The silvered brass dial is in good condition also.
