The flag features a coat of arms with a hammer, compass and wreath of wheat wrapped with a tricolour ribbon set in the middle of the black, red, and gold flag. Lewis in recognition of services rendered in boat no 7 of P&O SS Mongolia, mined 23rd June 1917, North 18-11 East 72-30 From Henry Shanly"; a military stop watch GC (last 2 AF). Note: 23rd June 1917 - SS Mongolia sank in thirteen minutes after striking a German mine during her voyage from London to India, China and Australia. The incident cost the lives of 23 passengers and crew whilst over 400 others on board owed their survival to the efficiency of the boat crews of the P&O Line. £50-60
