East Germany, extremely large East Germany fabric flag, stitched design with attached round insignia. The flag features a coat of arms with a hammer, compass and wreath of wheat wrapped with a tricolour ribbon set in the middle of the black, red, and gold flag. The flag was used from 1959 to 1990, the design was adapted to combine the Weimar flag and Communism symbols. Dimensions height 190cm, width 300cm
A WWI British Army compass, dated 1915, in its leather belt pouch; another painted olive drab; another dated 1918; a pocket watch marked "To J. Lewis in recognition of services rendered in boat no 7 of P&O SS Mongolia, mined 23rd June 1917, North 18-11 East 72-30 From Henry Shanly"; a military stop watch GC (last 2 AF). Note: 23rd June 1917 - SS Mongolia sank in thirteen minutes after striking a German mine during her voyage from London to India, China and Australia. The incident cost the lives of 23 passengers and crew whilst over 400 others on board owed their survival to the efficiency of the boat crews of the P&O Line. £50-60

A 19th century brass miners dial by the Elliot Brothers. London. The circular silvered dial with makers mark twin fold sighting arms, two bubble levels, ball and socket clamp and other brass accessories in a mahogany stow case, length 31.5cm.The bezel is loose and the brass cover may be a replacement, the compass needles is fixed in position and does no move freely, the brass has been polished throughout.
