Ltd, Westminster', within a pear shaped leather travelling case the two hinged doors fitted with the mercury thermometer and compass, height approx 9cm. (See illustration)

Manchester Ship Canal Presentation Silk. A stunning item measuring 22" x 19". It has a central image of an early steamship named 'Snowdrop' and 4 images in each corner: Swing Bridge & Trafford Road; Eastham Entrance; Barton Swingbridge & Aquaduct closed; Barton Swingbridge & Aquaduct open. Also featured at the compass points Sir John Harwood; Mr Marshall Stevens; Alderman Marshall; Mr Daniel Adamson. Central text reads: Opened January 1894. Total length of canal 35½" miles. Average width of canal at water level 172 Ft. Minimum width of canal at bottom 120Ft. Docks 104 acres, Wharfage 152 acres, Quays 5½ miles. Superb condition, never seen before.

An Air Ministry patter liquid filled hand-held landing compass, the brass rim of the bowl with stores reference number 6A/1248 and engraved Type 06A No. 44700.D., with folding sighting prism, compass card, lock screw, the handle designed to hold batteries for night illumination, on stand 9.75 in (24.8 cm) high (1)
