A FIRST WORLD WAR MILITARY FIELD SATCHEL AND CONTENTS. The underside of the cover inscribed 'Capt L.S.N. Palmer, Royal Dublin Fusilieys'. The contents comprising Palmer's Field Service Pocket Book 1914, cutlery, water bottle, mirror, compass 'Verner's Pattern VII' 1918 in leather case and other items. A Captain L.S.N. Palmer serving with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers is listed as wounded on casualty list 26/9/15 whilst serving in the Mediterranean, he was mentioned in dispatches on the 28th January 1916 and is also recorded as being 'sick' on 19th October 1916.
A WILTSHIRE REGIMENT NEEDLEWORK PANEL. The panel with a central Wiltshire Regiment crest beneath flags of France, Belgium and Great Britain above 'India 1916' within a wreath flanked by ribbon-tied flowers, all within a foliate border. With an attached note 'Worked by William Frederick Street of Hants in Afghanistan during the First World War when he was sent as a motor bike dispatch rider in the North West Frontier, having many hours to fill whilst waiting for dispatches to be taken to different forts etc. he started needleworking'. 29 inches square. With an album of photographs including images of members of the Wiltshire regiment amongst which a soldier with motorcycle, a pocket compass, military issue, 1915 and two shooting medals, one named to W.F.Street.
A FIRST AND SECOND WORLD WAR GROUP OF FIVE. A group of five comprising British War medal and Victory medal named to Lieut D.H.C. Lambart, a George V India General Service medal (Royal Mint) with Afghanistan N.W.F. 1919 bar, unnamed, Defence medal and War Medal 1939-45. The WWI pair mounted as worn, with a group of three miniatures of the earlier medals mounted as worn. Together with a collection of Leicestershire Regiment buttons, badges, other similar items, a deactivated grenade and a compass. Born on the 25th of February 1893, son of Rev. Dr C.H.Lambart. Commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Welsh Regiment in May 1915 and promoted to Lieutenant September 1916. Lambart was attached to the North Irish Horse in 1916, transferred to the reserve regiment of cavalry in August 1917. Captain in the Indian Army reserve from September 1919. During the Second World War he received a commission with the Leicester Regiment transferring to the Pioneer Corps in 1941. By January 1947 he was in charge of the Broughton Prisoner of War Camp in Northampton. He died on 30th January 1947 and was buried with a guard of honour of British troops and German prisoners of war. He is commemorated on the War Memorial at Hockley Heath, Solihull.

Rl: Highrs:); 1914 Star (6976 Sjt R.S.Duncan. R.Highrs:); British War and Victory Medal (6976 A.W.O.CL.R.S.Duncan. R.Highrs.). With two swagger sticks. Mother's Cross in gold. * HEATHER NEVAY (SCOTTISH b 1965), THE TWO ARCHITECTS gouache, signed 120cm x 100cm Framed and under glass. Information supplied by the vendor: We believe the setting is the Italian Centre in the East End of Glasgow. We purchased it from what we understand was her (Nevay's) first exhibition at ONE, Princes Square, Glasgow in 1990. Note: A rare and large early work by Heather Nevay. Heather was born in Glasgow in 1965. She studied at Glasgow School of Art, graduating with a degree in with BA Art and Design (Printed Textiles) in 1988. A predominantly figurative painter, Nevay's works have been exhibited regularly at the Compass Gallery and Cyril Gerber Fine Art, Glasgow, and the Portal Gallery, London. She has also exhibited many times in group shows at The Royal Scottish Academy, The Society of Scottish Artists, The Royal Glasgow Institute, and at the London and Glasgow Art Fairs.
