A yellow metal, amethyst and seed pearl pendent, of oval form with central pendeloque cut amethyst drop with terminals of three seed pearl ‘leaf’ mounts, impressed ‘T&S’ on reverse (yellow metal assessed as gold, one seed pearl lacking) (gross weight 2.1g), together with a 9ct. miniture compass, fashioned as a pendent, impressed ‘9ct’ to bail, attached to unrelated yellow metal box chain (chain af) (gross weight 5.1g), a 14ct. yellow gold bar brooch, having elongated oval form, light blue enamel, impressed ‘14k’ to clasp (gross weight 3.1g), 9ct. white gold stick pin, central diamond having souriding engine turned decoration to face, impressed ‘9ct’ on reverse of face, having fitted case (gross weight 1.4g), yellow metal and paste set brooch (yellow metal assessed as 9 carat gold), silver gilt pendent, having wirework decoration and central cabochon purple stone, impressed ‘silver’ to bail, 9ct. gold and blue topaz ring, central stone fashioned as a heart, flanked by two stone either side, impressed ‘9k’ (gross weight 2.2g) , two 9ct. chains, both impressed ‘9ct’ (5.3g) and a yellow metal chain, having unrelated crude clasp (yellow metal assessed as 9 carat gold) (gross weight 1.7g), total gross weight 26.5g.
Leather snuff box with compass set to the cover, note inside reads "This curious old snuff box of leather, with compass in lid and marked GAB 1785 belonged to George Anson Byron Captain Royal Navy (nat 1758 ob 1793) uncle of poet Lord Byron and godson of the famous circumnavigator Lord Anson. The box belonged afterwards to Lord Byron and was sold among other "Bygone Relics" left by Mr R J Cooke partner in the firm of John Murray, Byron's Publisher June 1982" 10cm long
