A Thomas Staight sundial compass, the white 3cm dial signed T. Staight, London beneath the glass dome within an ornamental ivory collar and disc, this mounted with a curved mercury thermometer with Fahrenheit and Reaumur scales, the whole in a red morocco covered case, overall diameter 9.5cm. Note: An identical instrument is in the Gadd Collection, The National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, ref. D8654.

A Victorian gold mounted carved shell cameo pendant, c.1850, the oval carved shell cameo in white to a tan ground, depicting the Order of St. John with ducal coronet above, rub set to a frame with a tubular border. Large engraved paper scrolls at the compass points with trailing ivy between. Tested as approximately 18ct gold
An 18ct gold key wound open faced pocket watch, with an ivory coloured enamel dial, black Roman numerals, silver spade hand and blued second hand. The case, 52mm diameter, with a slide on the band, blind cartouche to the back cover, rolled gold replacement bow, Chester 1876, together with a George III sterling silver pocket compass, with a painted enamel dial, 45mm diameter, the dial signed A Abraham, Optician, Liverpool. Hand engraved crest of a sphinx to the reverse. London 1819 (2)
Military compass formerly the property of General Sir Miles Dempsey GBE, KCB, DSO, MC (Commander of the British 2nd Army at D Day) by Martins Birmingham, the leather case dated 1916 and inscribed with initials M.C.D. the compass measures 7cm long. Miles Dempsey served on the Western front in France with the Royal Berkshire Regiment during WW1 following his graduation from Sandhurst in 1915. He was awarded the Military Cross for Bravery.
