WALTHAM; a gold plated open face crown wind pocket watch, the white enamel dial set with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial inscribed "AWW Co Waltham Mass", the movement inscribed and no. 9738392, diameter 5cm, a small watch within a compass type casing with screw fitment, the dial set with Arabic numerals, the Swiss made movement inscribed "16 Jewels", diameter of case at widest 4cm, and a cased pair of vintage round sunglasses with leather side shields (3).
A 9ct rose gold cased crown wind Elgin half hunter pocket watch with engine turned case and vacant shield shaped cartouche, the white enamel dial set with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds and inscribed "Elgin", the movement inscribed "Elgin Nat'l Watch Co USA 25292909 Seven Jewels", diameter 5cm, and a 9ct rose gold fancy chain Albert suspending a cornelian backed rose gold mounted compass fob. CONDITION REPORT: We are unable to guarantee this is in working order but it winds and hands move freely. Length of chain 44cm.
A William IV Newtons 12 inch 'New Improved Terrestial Globe Embracing Every Recent Discovery To The Present Time' dated London January 1st 1836 with a brass meridian ring on a mahogany tripod stand with ebony rings and inlay, the legs with low stretcher mounted with an earlier 12.5cm compass by Dudley Adams, full height 95cm. Military Medal group - MM GV (11278 Pte T Mullen 12/W.York R.), 1915 Star Trio (11278 Pte T Mullen W.York.R.). Comes with much original paperwork and newspaper cuttings (these have been laminated). At one point he was believed Killed In Action and the family received official notification of his death (this included) however he was recuperating in German Hospitals after laying Wounded within a few yards of the German Trenches for three days. Mullen of Newcastle finally Escaped to the Dutch Frontier after three days of travelling by night with an Australian companion Hughie West (MM) who had hid a compass and map in his clothing. The newspaper cuttings give a vivid account of Mullens escape form the Prison Camp. MM L/G 30/1/1920 POW/Escapers Gazette. A super group.
