Sir Gore Ouseley (1770-1844) who received this book from the author spent much of his active life as a diplomat in India and was a fluent Persian speaker. He was involved in the founding of the Royal Asiatic Society in 1823.

(c.1760). *** Apparently scarce with only one record found at auction a second state issued by John Bowles c.1770 sold at Bonhams in 2001.
