(47cm.) high.* Introduced in 1909 as a portable binnacle for use in the conning tower, as an aid to navigation when running on the surface. The instrument became known as Faithful Freddy to generations of submariners.** Condition: The peephole glass missing, hinge broken, the upper burner light glass broken, no compensating balls or brackets, otherwise good condition.
