A 19th century lacquered brass surveyor's sighting compass by Cail of Newcastle on Tyne, with octagonal case, silvered dial and signed blacked brass hinged sights, 4in. (10.2cm.) diameter, in the original black morocco case. Condition: The compass in very good condition, with few signs of use. The case with some edge wear and small losses to morocco. Interior in blue silk and velvet - the silk has a few stains and small rubbed hole to centre.

A WW I brass cased prismatic compass, stamped verso Negretti & Zambra, London, in a stitched leather case. Condition Report / Extra Information Glass is heavily stained, apparently to underside. Overall condition scratched and tarnished, but appears to be in working order. Not dated. Has what looks to be a part arrow on back.
