A 20th century Philips 19 inch terrestrial globe, with lacquered brass mounts, parquetry and mahogany frame and compass to the understage signed by Albion Clocks, the globe dated 1982, the compass 1997, diameter 54cm, height 103cm***CONDITION REPORT***Overall looks to be in honest untouched condition, papers to the globe perhaps very slightly discoloured, brass mounts with some slight oxidisation, minor dents and knocks to the wooden frame.PLEASE NOTE:- Prospective buyers are strongly advised to examine personally any goods in which they are interested BEFORE the auction takes place. WW1 British Compass maker marked and dated "1918 E Koehn, Geneve, Suisse" serial number 136761. Marked with double facing Broad Arrow sold out of service mark. Complete with locking mechanism. Good original finish. Complete in leather pouch, strap very short. Along with a small pocker compass in brass marked "Made in France" and a French made map distance measuring tool, brass plotting table measuring tool and two wooden ship shaped items with brass hooks.
WW2 British Compass Prismatic MKIII serial no. 132339 maker marked and dated "EAC 1943". Complete with leather pouch maker marked and dated "M Harvey & Co. Ltd Walsall 1937" along with various owners serial numbers and names. Along with a Signalling Mirror/shaving mirror marked "GBB 1945" complete with original jungle green canvas cover (2)
WWI British War Medal to 29871 Pte John Bryce, Notts & Derby Regiment, no ribbon: a Notts & Derby embroidered pincushion: a Notts & Derby handkerchief; cigarette silks: WWI British Mk VI military pocket compass, serial no. 2832, maker marked and dated "R. J. Hopgood & Co, London, 1918". John Bryce was reported as Missing and then found alive on 8/10/1917 and was later wounded on 11/07/1918.
