Als Hauptthema für Einbandverzierungen wählte er Pflanzen, die er in allen Einzelheiten darstellte. Er beeinflußte mit seinen Werken viele Buchbinder des Jugendstils und wurde Gründer der französischen Buchbinderschule des 20. Jahrhunderts. Das vorliegende Werk zeichnet sich nicht nur durch die prachtvolle Einbandgestaltung aus, sondern ebenfalls durch die feinen Radierungen von Flameng, die dieser nach Zeichnungen von Luc-Oliver Merson anfertigte. - 1 von 150 arabisch numerierten Exemplaren.
