Paris, Ad Poesis Gloriam (Carteret für René Descamps-Scive) 1907. • Prachtvoller signierter Künstler-Einband von Marius Michel • Mit herausragenden Radierungen von Léopold Flameng • Zusätzlich mit einem eigenhändigen Gedicht mit Unterschrift von Heredia Der schöne Meistereinband stammt von dem berühmten französischen Buchbinder Henri-Marius Michel (1846-1925), der für seinen Stil, den er 'flore ornementale“ nannte, bekannt wurde. Als Hauptthema für Einbandverzierungen wählte er Pflanzen, die er in allen Einzelheiten darstellte. Er beeinflußte mit seinen Werken viele Buchbinder des Jugendstils und wurde Gründer der französischen Buchbinderschule des 20. Jahrhunderts. Das vorliegende Werk zeichnet sich nicht nur durch die prachtvolle Einbandgestaltung aus, sondern ebenfalls durch die feinen Radierungen von Flameng, die dieser nach Zeichnungen von Luc-Oliver Merson anfertigte. - 1 von 150 arabisch numerierten Exemplaren. Druck auf festem Vélin. - Zudem ist dieses kostbare Werk durch ein eigenhändiges Gedicht des französischen Poeten José Maria de Heredia (1842-1905) angereichert, der zu seinen Lebzeiten als der größte Meister der französischen Sonette bekannt war. Das vom Autor signiert Gedicht Pour le vaisseau de Virgile ist vor Seit 63 eingebunden.
