Three Meiji period Japanese box wood and ivory figures, modelled seated at work, together with a Meiji period Japanese ivory elephant on hardwood base all (af) (5)All would benefit from a clean . The elephant (4.5cm-off base) has a broken leg and tail, although they are still present. Hairline crack through head and stomach, small chips to feet, multiple light scratches and areas of discolouration.The figures measure between 7-7.5cm. One has a large crack through his face and is missing his tools, another is missing his hand. Scratches and tarnishing to the faces and hands. Scuffs and scratches to the wood. Stickers and pencil marks to bases.
A collection of vertu, including a Victorian mother of pearl card case with conventional diamond pattern to body, 8 by 10.5cm, a faux tortoiseshell patch box with stylised foliate detailing to lid, an unusual multi-compartmental brass tobacco or cigarette case, possibly Trench Art, curved for hip pocket, 7.5 by 4 by 2.2cm, and four white metal items, one a weight and the other three likely manicure tools.
