A rare St Patrick`s Club creamware tankard of cylindrical form with c-scroll handle, incised circle to centre of base, with black transfer printed decoration of St. Patrick in an open landscape beneath the inscription `St. Patrick`s Club, N. T. Ards, 1783`, an elaborate and decorative swagged mirror form cartouche verso with a crowned harp, various tools and weapons and green painted shamrock, inscribed with the motto `Charity Obtaineth, The Beggars Blessing.`, 6in. A French Palais Royale tortoise shell and ivory strung musical necessaire of squat sarcophagus form, the hinged cavetto moulded lid opening to reveal a mirror to underside protected with a charming removable silk pad printed with the dedication "Remove this, my lovely little Charlotte and you will see an interesting picture", the base with fitted buff velvet tray containing some original sewing tools including mother of pearl scissors with stylised dolphin handles, mother of pearl rectangular needle case, gold thimble, two reels, stiletto (damaged) and three star form silk winders, the tray with storage compartment and two air musical movement beneath with stop/start buttons to front of box, on four turned ivory feet, 6½ x 4½in. A Victorian papier-mâché sewing cabinet of upright rectangular form, the hinged scalloped edged lid decorated with inlaid mother of pearl rush and foliate spandrels each containing a hand painted floral oval reserve, the lid centred with a raised panel with incuse corners with a hand painted topographical scene of an Italian lake, lifting to reveal a fitted interior containing a matched collection of sewing tools, comprising; six mother of pearl ivory reels, four mother of pearl silk winders, scissors with gilt highlighted decoration and three mother of pearl stilettos, above double doors each with mother of pearl and gilt decoration surrounding raised oval reserves with trefoil crowns at cardinal points containing conforming hand painted lake scenes, opening to reveal four half width drawers set between top and bottom full width drawers each with decorated wrigglework borders, the sides decorated with a bright handpainted and mother of pearl inlaid floral spray within a gilt frame, seated on an outswe t shaped cavetto base with mother of pearl rush and foliate inlay, 12 x 9¼in. (30.5 x 25.5cm.), 12½in. (31.75cm.) high. See Illustration
