PROBIN BIRM.', with marks 'V' and 'P', engraved with a frame at the base and provided with rear sight and front sight, marked 'STUBS' below; finely engraved tangs; locks signed 'Probin', provided with secure lock and watertight, decorated hammers (slightly different). Wooden stocks with faceted butts, iron trigger guards engraved en suite. Set trigger. Wooden ramrods. In a wooden case with brass mounts (the lid needs to be fixed), lined with green cloth and provided with some tools including a double powder/bullet flask. dating: circa 1800 provenance: London, Smoothbore, octagonal, 17 mm cal. barrels, frame engraved at the base and signed 'NOCHOLSON LONDON', foresight, marked 'TWISTED' below and with two marks, vent lined with gold; tangs engraved with trophy and provided with rear sight. Elegant flintlocks signed 'NICHOLSON', engraved with rays and provided with safety lock, anti-friction and sealing systems. Wooden full stocks with checkered butt. Iron mounts; trigger guard finely engraved with trophy and floral motifs. Set trigger. Perfectly working mechanism. Wooden ramrod. In a wooden case lined with green cloth and provided with all the tools including the rare powder flask with three magazines for powder, bullets and another turn-off one for flints at the base. length 41 cm.
dating: circa 1800 provenance: Liege, Rifled, 14 mm cal barrels (clean bores, clearly visible rifling), in very fine damask, provided with front sight; engraved tangs with adjustable front sight; very elegant steel locks signed 'Tibot', finely engraved with floral motifs and provided with anti-friction and watertight systems; briar stocks, sculpted with floral motifs around the tangs and with micro-checkered butt. Beautiful silver mounts engraved with floral motifs. Horn-tipped, wooden ramrod (like the fore-end cap of the butt). In a wooden case (later?) lined in red velvet, signed with 'Tibot a Liege' in gold among floral decorations on the corners. With tools inside (a tool is missing but can be easily found) including a beautiful engraved iron cruet, a cow-horn powder flask, brass mounts and more. An interesting pair of very high quality pistols by a still unknown gunsmith. length 34 cm.
dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Paris, Octagonal, rifled, browned barrels (clean, with visible rifling), the first part with bluing, front sight, marked 'CH', '34', '11' or '12' and with the mark of St. Etienne underneath. Tangs engraved and with sight. Backward spring locks signed 'F.ni P. Lefaure a Paris' and engraved with floral motifs. Wooden stocks with checkered butts, marked '11' or '12' inside, with iron mounts decorated en suite. Brass-tipped, iron ramrods. In a wooden case with brass mounts and lined in brown velvet and provided with all tools and keys. length 32.5 cm.
dating: 1840 circa provenance: Graz, Round, rifled, turn-off, 9 mm cal barrels made of fine damask, with rib, signed in gold 'SCHREIBER IN GRAETZ', front sight; very long tang finely engraved with floral motifs and with numbers '1' and '2' in gold; frames with revolving powder chamber which, once in transversal position, allows to load the gun and position the nipple, opening lever with spring stop at the bottom; all the iron parts finely engraved with floral motifs, cocks with internal hammer, engraved and browned trigger guards with finger support; checkered, wooden butts. In their original wooden case lined with green cloth and provided with various tools and keys. Very rare set. A fine pair of pistols by the famous gunsmith, already documented in Gratz in 1833, provided with an innovative and easy-to-load system. length 23.7 cm.
dating: about 1835 provenance: Belgium, Micro-rifled, octagonal, 14 mm cal barrels, with engraved base, mark of the Liège test bench on one side, front sight; engraved and sighted tangs; forward spring locks signed 'G. Berleur' and engraved with floral motifs (a hammer with a crack in the center of the throw). Walnut wooden stocks with checkered handle iron mounts, beautiful counter-plates with intertwined lions, trigger guards engraved with floral motifs, finger rests and guards equipped with a drum featuring a shell-shaped lid. Sett rigger. Kept in a later wooden case lined in leather with all tools and keys. Engraved tangs, provided with sdjustable rear sight and marked '1' and '2'. Forward spring percussion locks marked 'IN BOZEN' and finely engraved with floral motifs. Half wooden stock with shell-shaped fore-end cap (a small crack on one pistol) and grooved butt. Fine iron mounts decorated en suite, trigger guard with finger rest, set trigger. In an oval case covered in leather, lined in raw white leather and provided with all tools and keys. length 43.5 cm.
dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Paris, Octagonal, blued, rifled, 11.2 mm cal. barrels (clean bores, clearly visible rifling), marked 'F.NI PAR GASTINNE RENETTE', with precision sight, below marked 'L. GHAYE', 'ACIER FONDU', '11,2' and with various marks; tang provided with adjustable and browned rear sight; forward spring locks with smooth lock-plate keeping most of the original bluing, decorated with an engraved rosette at the front; wooden half stocks finely carved with floral motifs in high relief and with checkered butts, marked 'JNI 1' and 'JNI 2' inside. Smooth iron mounts with remains of bluing, ring guards with internal curls and finger supports, blued triggers. Perfect mechanism. In wooden case with brass mounts (the lid with abrasions and crack), covered with green cloth with gold stamp 'GASTINNE RENETTE PARIS', complete with tools and key. dating: 1840 circa provenance: Paris, Octagonal, smoothbore, 13 mm cal barrels, with thin groove at the center, signed 'LE PAGE A PARIS' in gold in two lines among branches, with frame at the base and precision front sight, areas with rust damages, especially under the barrels, one marked '1005', 'GB' and '3' below and on the side , the other '1003' and with remains of marks, mark of the Liege test bench on one side; engraved tangs numbered '1' and '2', and provided with the same thin groove (continuing on the back of the cases); forward spring locks signed in gold 'LEPAGE A PARIS' and finely engraved with floral motifs; three-quarter wooden stocks with shell-shaped sides and zigzag checkered butts, marked 'JHL', 'IIII' or 'V' inside. Perfectly outlined, saw-handle butt. Iron mounts, the counter-plates with intertwined winged dragons; trigger guards engraved with floral motifs and provided with finger rests, oval and convex butt plates decorated en suite. Set trigger. In patina, with an adeguate restoration the quality surely improves. In a wooden case with elegant brass mounts and foldaway handle, re-lined in green cloth with tools and keys. A very interesting pair of pistols of a rare shape and of the well-known Lepage quality. length 39 cm.
dating: 1858 - 1861 provenance: USA, Octagonal, rifled, 28 cal. barrel, with foresight and marking 'COLT'S PATENT 1855 ADDRESS COL. COLT / HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.' and a mark; smooth, five-shot cylinder, engraved with pioneer scene and marked 'COLT'S PATENT' and with serial number '19xxx'. Frame with cock on the right side and spur trigger. Working mechanism. About 50% of original browning. Smooth, walnut grip. Grip-strap with the same serial number as the barrel. Kept in a wooden case lined with green cloth with tools and key. On the lid label 'Colt's Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing 14 Pall Mall S. W. London'. length 22.2 cm.
