An 18th century silver pair cased pocket watch, the enamel dial with Roman numerals, the movement signed Pet Garon, London, 1919, the back of the case with engraved decoration incorporating initials, flowers and tools, the outer case with silver coloured metal inlaid decoration to the tortoiseshellSlight loss to enamel dial, underneath the 6, there is slight rubbing to around the key winding hole, the tortoiseshell has slight loss and there are a few areas of loss to the silver inlaid decorationWinds and runs but we do not guarantee this nor that it keeps good time, 1919 is movement number, dial looks to be period and not replaced, case possibly later than watch movement, mark is rubbed so possibly earlier, tortoiseshell case possibly could be later but no way of telling but does fit the watch, makers mark probably "John Lamb" who was active mid 18th century, case probably later to movement
A possibly bronze age set of beads. Together with neolithic stone tools. Maurice Jenkins (1933-2022). North Cornwall collector. Maurice was a lifetime collector and started in the 1950s. He opened a shop in Liskeard in the 1970s called Canon Hill Antiques. He visited a number of Middle Eastern countries in his lifetime including Egypt in the late 1970's when his interest in Islamic and Asian antiques began. He was a man with an eye for quality and a love of antiques, history and travel who purchased privately and at auction over the decades. Over a lifetime of purchasing privately and at auction, he created an eclectic ensemble of collections reflecting his interests. He died a few weeks before his 90th birthday and was still buying until that time. These items have come from the collection of the late Maurice Jenkins of Bude. The labels on the beads are his and state 'Early Bronze Age Necklace purchased 1991 at sale in Fremington'. Two of the implements have marker pen inscriptions, the larger states '1989, found in Bude at roadside North of the golf club', the smaller ' Borrowdale, Lake District'
