3 1/2 inch gauge: scratch-built live-steam `Invincible`, green 0-4-0 Saddle Tank Locomotive (which served The Woolwich Arsenal and R.A.E. Farnborough), with carry case, grey open wagon, tools and drawings of Juliet (leading to `Invincible`), photographs and (out of date) boiler test card, three display track-boards
An extremely fine detailed exhibition standard 3½in. gauge model of the GNR 4-2-2 Stirling Single locomotive and tender No. 1, built by A. Peacock, the boiler with fittings including steam pressure and water vacuum gauges (built by A. Peacock), safety, blower, injector, whistle, steam brake, clack and blowdown valves. Cab details include GNR pattern push/pull regulator, reverse lever with spring loaded catch, fire door with adjustable draught door, levers for sand, cylinder drains and damper and wooden cab floor. Chassis details include twin outside cylinders with inside Stephenson’s link gear with counterbalance weightshaft, detailed big ends, sanding boxes, working leaf springs, oil pots and pipes, high and low pressure injectors, steam operated brake gear, steps, hand and lamp irons and lamps. Tender details include water cocks, toolbox, hand operated brake gear, fine rivet detail (using special drill stand built by Mr Peacock) and hand feed pump. The engine and tender are finished in GNR livery and lining and polished brightwork, with engraved brass plates to splashers - 1020mm long; with set of of scale tools, oil can and showtrack, in glazed mahogany case. This locomotive won the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Challenge Trophy, awarded to the winner of the Championship Award at the Model Engineer Exhibition, in 1970. The first of the iconic Stirling 8ft Singles was built at Doncaster, Works No. 50, on April 20th 1870, exactly a century before this model was constructed. The locomotive is preserved in the National Railway Museum, York, having been withdrawn from service in September 1907

Contemporary red gold-tooled morocco, wide gilt filigree border enclosing the IHS symbol surrounded by an oval-shaped green morocco onlay and sunburst, spine in six compatments each filled with central rosette and smaller flower tools, gilt board and paper edges, gilt turn-ins, marbled endpapers (light scuff marks to covers, rubbed at extremities). Didot l'aîné, 1783. 2 volumes, 4° (295 x 220mm). Titles with engraved arms of the Dauphin. (T1v and T2r of vol. I with offsetting from page marker, light creasing to corners.) Contemporary crimson morocco gilt by Gaudreau, signed on turn-ins, spines with raised bands, two compartments directly lettered, others with fleuron and small tools, triple fillets on sides, gilt turn-ins, marbled endpapers, blue silk markers, gilt edges (spines a little sunfaded and lightly rubbed at extremities, one or two tiny holes). Provenance: A.L. McLaughlin (bookplate; sale Sotheby's Monaco, 7 October 1980, lot 1704). LIMITED TO 200 COPIES printed with the new types of Didot l'aîné on papier grand raisin vélin d'Annonay made by Matthieu Johannot, this copy in a signed binding by Gaudreau, 'relieur de la Reine'. Chancery 2° (280 x 200mm). 283 leaves (of 286, Ff1 and Ff2 supplied in facsimile, without final blank). Gothic types. Initial spaces with printed guide-letters, printer's device on Pp9v. (Some marginal dampstaining.) 16th-century calf over wooden boards tooled in blind with foliate and floral roll-tools, possibly British, brass catches and clasps, old spine label (extremities lightly rubbed, rebacked preserving some of the original backstrip). Property of the late Miss G M Weldon sold by Order of the Trustees 1968 DAIMLER V8 250 SALOON registration no PTV 400G, chassis no PIK 4256BW, engine no 7K4415, Opalescent Silver Blue all steel coachwork with dark blue leather upholstery and walnut dashboard and trim, 2548cc four (x2) cylinder 90 Vee 8 engine with twin SU carburettors, automatic transmission, large and small tools and spare wheel This very well preserved vehicle was supplied in December 1968 to the late Miss Weldon by C H Truman & Co Ltd of Nottingham. Regularly driven by Miss Weldon`s chauffeur, it has covered only 53,000 miles . Sold with the Owner`s Handbook, brochure, original Registration Book (V.E.60) and Registration Document form V5, and service history (from the first 1000 miles), it has been maintained by Truman & Co and subsequently by Mann, Egerton & Co Ltd of Nottingham. The interior is original with pleasing signs of little wear, such as unused ashtrays. The car has since new been housed in a heated garage but in recent years has not been used, following the retirement of the chauffeur. It con equently requires recomissioning to become an excellent low-mileage, single owner example of this Daimler version of the stylish Mk II Jaguar.
