The Lanchester Motor and Carriage - 1903. Offered in two volumes, 'Descriptive Manual' dated January 1903 and 'Driving Manual' of a similar period, book one having 73 pp. and book two starting at page 73 and continuing to 197, full of good images of component parts, chassis layout, engine, controls, wheels, steering and the like, Manual II explaining the controls, driving skills, maintenance and tools available, matched black bindings with gilt titles, the title-page and front endpaper missing from Manual I, both books have seen 'use', but are fundamentally sound (2)
East London Rubber Company Motor Catalogue 1916. A quarto (11 x 8.75 ins), profusely illustrated with engravings, has about 750 pages in all, and is divided into the following sections: Motor Tyres, Kerry Abingdon Motor Bicycles & Side Cars, and Motor Fittings and Accessories; Tools; Motor & Motor Cycling Clothing, the back cover of the volume is a bit soiled, the outer corners of the covers are rubbed, front and rear hinges a little weak, and there is some damp wrinkling to the upper margins of the pages (not affecting the actual text or illustrations), but the contents appear otherwise to be clean and sound A rare year. A good quality cabinetmaker/carpenters tool box late 19th Century The black painted box opens to reveal a lid with a flame mahogany panel, the interior with sliding mahogany compartments, with numerous tools to include auger bits, clamps, initial stamps, saws, spoke shaves various molding planes, chisels etc. CONDITION REPORT: Part of veneer to inside lid missing splits etc, knocks, scuff marks etc, condition as expected for used craftsman box, width 102cm, depth 60cm, height 58cm.
