An Exhibition Standard 5 in gauge Bayer Peacock 2-4-0 Isle of Man Narrow Gauge Locomotive No 6 Peveril, built by Mr Alec Hadfield of Sidmouth from castings and drawings supplied by Ashdowns of Battle by Mike Casey. The original engine was delivered to Douglas on the Isle of Man in 1875 being works number 1524. The silver soldered copper boiler with injector and fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety valve, whistle, clack and blow down plug. Chassis detail including twin outside cylinders, Inside Stephensons gear, slide valve, fluted motion, oil lubricator. Cab controls with regulator, pressure gauges, sight glasses, drain cock lever and hand feed pump. The locomotive finished in red and black livery with fitted coal bunker, steps and hand rails, lamps and fine rivet detail. Set on display track with carrying case. Drawings and firing tools. Boiler History: Initial test certificate 160 psi Exeter MES 25th November 1987. Retest certificate to 22nd of April 2006. Valid Southern Federation of M del Engineering hydraulic test certificate to the 20th of June 2010. And a current steam test which expires 20th of June 2007 by Taunton MES. This model is built to an exhibition standard by Alec Hadfield a very respected and long time member of the Taunton Model Engineering Club. Among the award won by this locomotive are the 1988 Taunton MES Model of the year, 1989 Liskard Model Exhibition Best Visitors Model and 1996 Pecorama Steam Festival Best Exhibit. LUCIANO BOSIS A FINE 20-BORE MICHELANGELO MODEL SINGLE TRIGGER SIDELOCK EJECTOR OVER AND UNDER GUN, NO. 232. 28-inch barrels with 2 3/4-inch chambers, matted solid rib, about improved cylinder and 1/4 choke borings, the frame and locks engraved with fine bouquet and scroll engraving and retaining virtually all of its original hardening colour, Boss-style action with carved and bolstered fences, 14-inch highly figured stock, 6lb. Italian nitro proof, in its makers lightweight leather case with tools and documentation. The gun was completed in 1998 and appears little used.

Missale Novum Romanum ..., Kempton, 1686, half title, title printed in red and black with vign., printed in red and black throughout with woodcut initials, four full page eng. plts. with facing pages with eng. pict. borders, colophon leaf at rear, titles sl. soiled with small repair at head not affecting text, old ownership signature, eng. bookplate with motto Palma virtuti to front pastedown, contemp. elaborately gilt-tooled calf with centrepiece design including several floral tools, brass corners with bosses and centre bosses, decorative brass clasps on leather straps in working order, old reback, some edge wear, folio. Binding. Social and Political Reminiscences by the Lady Southwark, 1st ed., 1913, b & w plts., scattered spotting, a.e.g., cotemp. gilt-dec. tan morocco by Sangorski & Sutcliffe with floral and other small tools, very minor edge rubbing, 8vo. A pencil note inside plausibly indicates that this was Lady Southwark's own copy. (1)

Le Morte Darthur, 2nd Beardsley ed., 1909, twenty b & w plts., incl. etched frontis. and several double-page plts., many b & w illusts. to text, a.e.g., recent vellum for Asprey, with orig. cloth spine and covers bound in at rear, smooth spine divided by gilt single fillets, gilt lettered direct in second and fourth compartments, remainder with gilt tooled wavy-line saltire cross, with lozenge, dot and roundel tools, covers with gilt double fillet border, and large lattice panel, with lozenge tools at intersections, gilt fillets to turn-ins, contained in white cloth slipcase, 4to. Printed in an edition of 1500 copies. (1)

The Book of Common Prayer and Administration of the Sacraments... , Engraven and Printed by the Permission of Mr. John Baskett printer to the Kings Most Excellent Majesty, sold by John Sturt, Engraver, 1717, eng. throughout with ports., vigns. and ornamental borders, ruled in red throughout, volvelle present but lacking pointers, ad. leaf at rear, some minor paper surface damage at end of subscriber's list, similar eng. plt. of the ten commandments from another later work laid down as frontis., a.e.g., contemp. elaborately gilt dec. red morocco with cottage roof design, floral tools and dentelle border, gilt dec. spine with seven compartments including two contrasting leather labels, minor rubbing, 8vo. * Royal Letters. An album containing Victorian British royalty letters, etc., c. 1840-1900, including a four-page autograph letters initialled from the newly married Queen Victoria, 9th March 1840, written in German to Victor(?), thanking him for his kind letter and translating, Yes, my dearest child, love him with all your heart always and then you will be happy. You cannot imagine how delightful it is to be married. I could not have dreamed that anyone could be so happy in this world as I am. Though you must not however call him the Duke of Nemours when you write to me but Nemours. Duke is so formal, regretting to hear that Louisa is so ill, 4 pp., 8vo, tipped onto an album leaf, document signed by Victoria R, dated 7th April 1869, some pen and pencil thumbs with a pencil note identifying this as the hand of Edward VII as a boy, seven letters from Albert Edward (late King Edward VII), six signed and one initialled, all to Charlie [Beresford], 1873 and later, a total of 20 pp., 8vo, a Prince of Wales compliment card used as a Christmas tag together with envelope, plus three more envelopes initialled by Albert Edward, an initialled note by Prince Albert, a signed note from Queen Alexandra, three autograph letters signed from Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, two autograph letters signed Eddy and Edward, from King Edward VII's son Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence, both to Charles Beresford in a young boy's hand, dated 1875 and 1878, an autograph letter signed from Princess Christian, and one from Louise, Duchess of Argyle, plus four telegrams at rear to Lord and Lady Charles Beresford, from Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, one from Evelyn Paget at Osborne and one from Princess Alexandra at Sandringham, all tipped-in to an album, a.e.g., modern elaborately gilt dec. green crushed morocco by F. Bedford, marbled endpapers and inner dentels gilt, spine with six compartments and titled Royal Autographed Letters, floral and other small tools to borders, gilt titled on upper cover Queen Victoria, Edward VII and the Royal Family, small folio contained in a cloth book-box, a little rubbed and frayed. An extensive collection of woodworking tools belonging to Bernard Wyers, contained in two ebonized tool chests to include; named wooden planes, chisels and other cabinet making and carving tools Provenance; Bernard Wyers (1929-2007) was an award wining cabinet maker and carver working in Worcester. He won fourth place in a commonwealth cabinet making competition with a hymn board (now in Worcester Cathedral). He was also a member of the Worshipful Company of Carpenters.
:TWO HENRY DIXON PATENT 12-BORE CARTRIDGE RELOADING TOOLS, the first for powder where the crank of the handle delivers a measured quantity of powder to a suite of 100 cases held in a sliding reservoir, the second machine issues shot, one a rotation of the cranked handle which indexes the reservoir a line at a time loading 10 cartridges each revolution, serial numbers 766/767, circa 1890-1900.
