Oxford binding of gilt?dec. black goatskin, covers elaborately panelled (decorated with insects, snails, etc.) with a central lozenge (decorated with phoenix) enclosing royal coat?of?arms, gilt corner?pieces, gilt pyramid built up from small tools to each side, spine compartments tooled with sprays and serpent in each corner, retaining 4 (of 8) orig. blue silk ties, with gold threaded tassels, spines a little dulled, joints partly cracked, rubbed and some wear to outer corners, large folio (page size approx. 540 x 355mm). D. markings, black painted with copper pipework, cab details and dexion carrying cradle, 37 inches (94 cm) long, with firing tools. (1)
Australia.-Stephens (John) The History of the Rise and Progress of the New British Province of South Australia..., second edition, folding map, folding plan, folding table, 4 lithographed plates, advertisement leaf and 9pp. Catalogue "Land of Promise Advertising Sheet" at end, foxed, original pictorial cloth, gilt, rubbed and a little faded, spine worn at head and foot, [Ferguson 2851], 8vo, 1839. Including an account of the South Australian Company with details of emigrants, wages, provisions etc. The advertisements at end are directed at those emigrating and feature tools, clothing, tents, maps, domestic goods and even houses, with a plan and elevation.

Burford in 1960/2 and run five to six years before being laid up due to pressure of owner's business interest, was exhibited in the exhibition '150 years across the Shannon', first and only boiler certificate 1964, fitted with water gauge, pressure gauge, blowdown valve, whistle, steam brake, Walschaert's valve gear, injector and pumps both axle and hand, lever reverse, silver soldered boiler, (80lbs working pressure, hydraulic test 160lbs psi) stainless steel grate and firing tools, mechanical lubricator, connections for water tank trailer, model finished in BR black livery with show track.
Finely engineered 2 inch scale model of an Agricultural Engine, scratch built and based on a Clayton and Shuttleworth engine built by the late Ted Hopkinson and his son of James Hopkinson and Sons, Agricultural Engineers of Newark. The engine has a brazed copper boiler with thirty-two tubes and fittings including water gauge, pressure gauge, safety valve, blower, water lifter, clack and blowdown valves. Engine details including twin high pressure cylinders 1 1/8 inch bores, drain cocks and pipes, twin ratchet mechanical lubricators, crosshead guides, Stephenson's link reverse, eccentric driven feed pump and bypass, two road speeds, solid flywheel, other details include spoked straked wheels, worm and roller chain steering, cable drum, fairleads, hand brake, wooden foot board with steps, finished in green and red paintwork, 39 inches and 15 1/2 inches (99cm x 39cm), Collection of stainless steel tools, shovel, bottle jacks and strakes. Complete with glazed case on polished mahogany stand.
