Binding. A large French Royal leather portfolio, late 18th c., diced russia, some staining, extrems. worn, remnants of ties, spine divided by gilt scalloped flower roll between double and single rules, compartments with alternating star and rectangular designs, both composed of a profusion of gilt fleurons, and flower, roundel, and volute tools, covers with wide gilt border composed of dolphin and coronet roll, fleur-de-lys and star roll, and fleur-de-lys and fleuron roll, all with double and single fillets between, large central lozenge composed of fleurons, volutes, and stars, with the number 3 within a small decorative lozenge above and below, lower cover with early ms. paper label detailing previous contents, marbled endpapers, folio, 61 x 48cm (24 x 19ins). The dolphin, coronet and fleur-de-lys devices signify ownership of the French Dauphin. (1)

An early 19c red leather covered needlework box, fitted compartments and with base drawer, containing numerous ivory and mother of pearl tools and accessories, with needles and thread, having lion mask ring pull side handles. The box has been well used and the red leather does require some repair, the box 17""w.
A late 19c Oriental black lacquered needlework writing box, chinoisery decorated throughout, containing a needlework compartment fitted with ivory accessories and associated ivory needlework tools which include four table spool clamps and one table pin cushion clamp. The pull out writing drawer has hinged slope and pen and ink compartments, the box has side carrying handles and is supported on small carved paw feet, 14""w.
An early 20th Century CQR tool chest, the fall front enclosing four short and three long drawers, each containing a wide variety of vintage tooling and tools by S W Capd Manufacturing Co. Mansfield Massachussetts, Joseph Lucas Limited, Brown and Sharpe Manufacturing Co. Providence USA, the LSS Co. Athol Mass USA, Moore and Wright of Sheffield LS Starrett Co., W Ward, etc CONDITION REPORTS The box; General wear and tear throughout, with assorted cracks, scratches, indent marks, splits and some very minor missing pieces. There are some marks including white paint splatter marks to the top and the CQR mark to the top is worn. . The door needs attention to the top right hand corner as the horizontal bar appears to have slipped. The door is stamped 'W. H. T. Ward'. which is probably the owner and not the maker. The drawers are suffering from general wear and tear, and are probably a little over loaded. The brass handles are worn in places due to use. The leather handle is worn but is intact, however the fittings for the handle are rusting. The bottom drawer is stamped 'REGD No 055619'. All tools are bearing signs of rust and general wear and tear, some are bent. Approximate dimensions are 26 cm high x 41.5 cm wide and 20 cm deep.
