The Jacquard puppets - general condition reportThe puppets have been stored for many years, the strings have mainly gone, and those that are left are fragile and snap easily and most will need to be restrung. Some were made just before the second world war, others in the following two decades. They were made from whatever was available, pieces of wood, leather, dress and upholstery fabrics, felt, etc. The clothing and fabrics are generally in reasonable condition, with little moth or damp damage.

Like many artists he struggled to sell his own work, but found he could easily copy any other artists style. Over the last 20 years he became one of the most successful art forgers in the world. He has fooled museums, galleries and every major auction house. He came to specialise in the work of Alberto Giacometti. Robert emigrated to Thailand where he opened a small restaurant and moved away from the world of art. He has recently taken up the brush and sculptors tools once again, producing original reproductions, all of which are signed by Robert Driessen.
