A Persian carpet, the centre field with all-over floral and foliate and medallion decoration in eau de nil, pale red, pale gold, blue and mushroom, within pale green scrolling floral decorated borders, 464 cm x 366 cm CONDITION REPORTS Carpet overall with wear which on the whole appears reasonably even, although there are some places which are a little thinner, generally has quite a lot of stains and dirt, also appears to be some water damage and/or moth damage where pile is missing - this is particularly prevalent to one end of the carpet and one corner section is missing and has been touched in, there are various areas of losses and loss to the pile throughout, loss to the pile is evident to both the back of the carpet and to the top of the carpet, the borders seem to be particularly affected in this way, although there are also some patches to the centre areas which are affected, some losses to patched repairs.
A large Aubusson type carpet, the centre field with stylised floral medallions in taupe, mushroom, pale red and cream, within a diamond banded design, on a cream ground within pale red and taupe stylised foliate and fleur de lys decorated border, within plain aubergine cream and green borders, 730 cm x 410 cm CONDITION REPORTS Overall some general wear and dirt, a few marks and stains, but overall appears in reasonably good condition.
A Caucasian carpet, the central medallion in blue, salmon, red, green and cream on a red medallion decorated border, with blue, red and cream patterned corners, within blue, red, cream and pale green medallion and scrolling foliate decorated borders, 366 cm x 274 cm CONDITION REPORTS Wear, dirt and some fading and stains. Some fading. Heavy wear to pile and structure showing through it quite a lot of places. Losses to ends, and fraying and losses to sides. Two large cuts to one end (possibly in order to fit it around furniture) and some glue and bindings added in these areas.
An Aubusson tapestry carpet / wall hanging depicting a pastoral scene with figures in 18th Century dress, a dog and lambs at their feet and bird in a birdcage hanging from a tree, in shades of cream, pale green, pale gold, salmon and red, within gold, pale green, pale blue and cream floral and scrolling border, 233 cm x 156 cm CONDITION REPORTS Some general wear, fading and dirt, and some stains to one border. Overall condition appears reasonably good.
Attractive Bakhtiari carpet, Shalamazar, Chahar Mahal Valley, south west Persia, third quarter 20th century, 16ft. 4in. x 12ft. 9in. 4.97m. x 3.89m. Slight wear in places; small nick to top end. Note the pleasing main border featuring large flowers, cypress trees and weeping willows. Good wool and colours.
